At your initial pain & orthopedics appointment:
We will review your health history, evaluate your symptoms, look over any imaging or lab reports, perform an exam, assess the source of the problem, formulate a custom treatment plan, and complete the session with an acupuncture treatment. For many pain conditions, we often include additional pain therapies such as cupping, gua sha - scraping, stretches, exercises, moxibustion, infrared heat, topical oils and salves, supplements and/or internal herbal formulas.
Treatment plan:
Our pain management program typically starts with an introductory 4-12 acupuncture treatments before re-evaluating and determining continuing needs. Type of condition, history of injuries or surgeries, other contextual factors, and goals of care can determine progress and outcomes. We often coordinate care with other pain specialists including but not limited to orthopedic & sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, and massage therapists.
Fertility & Pregnancy

We treat a wide range of female and male fertility concerns including trying to conceive naturally (TTC) and preparation for assisted reproductive technology (ART) such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
We also provide care throughout pregnancy for a variety of symptoms to support your health & wellness along the way.

At your initial fertility or perinatal appointment:
We will discuss your health history, review any fertility or reproductive tests or treatments you have done, perform an exam, evaluate your condition, assess the source or nature of the problem, formulate a custom treatment plan, and complete the session with an acupuncture treatment. For some conditions or symptoms, we may include additional therapies such as cupping, gua sha - scraping, lifestyle modifications, moxibustion, infrared heat, topical oils and salves, supplements and/or internal herbal formulas. We may also recommend certain standard or functional health tests if they have not yet already been done.
IVF/ART: Acupuncture right before and after your embryo transfer is highly recommended. However, studies show that starting acupuncture several weeks to months before your egg retrievals and transfers is associated with higher live birth rates.
Treatment plan:
Our fertility and women’s health program typically starts with about 3 months of treatment, however an individualized plan is developed for you after our comprehensive consultation. For mens’ fertility, 3-6 months of treatment for certain issues. Our approach can support you not only in optimizing your fertility and reproductive health, but also in helping you manage the stress along the way.
Our perinatal care is highly individualized and more “go with the flow” as there can be changes week to week during pregnancy and postpartum. We will discuss your goals, treatment options, and custom treatment plan at your initial visit.
We coordinate care with fertility and reproductive specialists, OB-GYNs, lactation consultants, pelvic floor physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, and naturopathic doctors.
Oncology Support

At your initial oncology support appointment:
We will discuss your health and cancer history, review your oncology treatment plan, evaluate your symptoms, formulate a custom treatment plan to support wherever you are on your journey, and complete the session with an acupuncture treatment.
For oncology support, we may include additional therapies when safe and appropriate for your case such as stretches, exercises, moxibustion, infrared heat, and/or topical oils and salves. We occasionally offer cupping or gua sha, and/or recommend nutrition, supplements, or herbal medicine with approval of your oncologist for certain symptoms.
Treatment plan:
Your acupuncture program is based upon your stage of oncology treatment, what symptoms you are experiencing, and how you are feeling overall. We often recommend acupuncture while going through chemotherapy to reduce side effects. We may need to coordinate the timing depending on when your symptoms are worse and the type of chemotherapy or other treatments. In our clinic, we always offer an empathetic ear for anything you would like to discuss during your sessions. Above all, your safety is the top priority; our sanitization protocols minimize risk of infection and injury, and we use techniques that are gentle and lowest-risk.

We may also recommend certain standard or functional health tests to help get to the root of your symptoms, screen for health concerns, and/or improve precision in treatment protocols.

Our health and wellness program starts with an introductory 4-12 acupuncture treatments before re-evaluating and determining continuing needs. Type of condition, health history or contextual factors, and goals of care can determine progress and outcomes. We often coordinate care with other specialists including but not limited to your primary care provider, physician specialists, physical therapists, chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, nutritionists, and massage therapists.
Once you are feeling consistently well, some patients prefer to keep up with acupuncture “tune-up” treatments at whatever schedule works best for them.
